January Programme Opus 1

January Opus 13 to 16 January 2025

Discover Opus 1 of the Classicaval Festival under the artistic direction of Anne-Lise Gastaldi.

For 3 days, come and celebrate Classical music with us in Val d’Isère. Anne-Lise Gastaldi and her guests will delight music lovers with these four concerts, which will take on a special resonance thanks to the acoustics and hushed atmosphere of the baroque church of Saint Bernard de Menthon.

The first part of this 31st edition will take place from 13 to 16 January 2025.

Presentation of the first opus by Anne-Lise Gastaldi, Artistic Director

“Classicaval is getting all dressed up for the year 2025! It’s hard to do so without drums and trumpets!”

So I asked Clément Saunier, a magnificent soloist with the Ensemble Intercontemporain, to help us discover the trumpet better by combining it with the viola, violin, cello and double bass.

This will be the programme on 15 January, covering more than 200 years of compositions … because the trumpet is an ancient instrument, even found in Tutankhamun’s sarcophagus!

The identity of Classicaval is also to mix generations of artists: in addition to two students from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon will be present three other young artists with established careers.

The beautiful baroque church of Saint-Bernard de Menthon will resonate the works of Brahms, Chopin, Schubert, Schumann …”
