A not-to-be-missed cultural event in Val d’Isère for the past thirty years, ClassicaVal was the brainchild of Jean Reizine, a passionate music lover. He was keen to highlight promising young artists. That’s why, every year, a few new musicians are put in the spotlight by the artistic directors and accompanied by the festival’s resident musicians. Sharing and learning are traditional Classicaval values.
The festival is also characterized by its artistic diversity, the fruit of the creative dynamism of its various artistic directors. Classicaval brings together concerts with a classical base that can also feature other musical forms or original instruments.
With each opus, Classicaval goes beyond the walls of the Val d’Isère church: encounters with students from the Val d’Isère school, a snow piano at the summit of Bellevarde or on the snow front, street piano…
