A key cultural event in Val d’Isère for the past thirty years, ClassicaVal was the brainchild of Jean Reizine, a music-loving Avalin at heart. He was keen to put the spotlight on promising young artists. That’s why, every year, a handful of new musicians are put in the spotlight by the artistic directors and accompanied by the festival’s resident musicians. Sharing and learning are traditional values at Classicaval.
The festival is also characterised by its artistic diversity, the fruit of the creative dynamism of its various artistic directors. Classicaval brings together concerts with a classical base that can welcome other musical forms or original instruments.
At each opus, Classicaval goes beyond the walls of the Val d’Isère church: meetings with pupils from the Val d’Isère school, a snow piano at the top of Bellevarde or on the snow front, street piano…
