Anne-Lise Gastaldi Artistic director - Piano

Professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse and the CRR de Paris, she is notably the pianist of the George Sand trio. Her discography has won awards from Classica, Le Monde de la Musique, Diapason and Télérama. Anne-Lise Gastaldi is also collection director at Editions Billaudot. A laureate of the renowned “Villa Médicis Hors les Murs” program, she conceived and was pianist for the “Escales Romaines” show, which was the subject of a television report on LCI. Her passion for literature, and Proust in particular, led her to organize the “Journées Musicales Marcel Proust” in Cabourg. She teaches piano at the CNSMD in Lyon and the CRR in Paris. She has written collections of music by some of the greatest composers of the early 21st century.

She is artistic director of the Classicaval festival.

Volkhard Steude Violin

After studying violin at the age of 5 in the former GDR, Volkhard Steude pursued advanced studies at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin, during which time he won numerous international competitions. In 1993, at the age of 22, he became concertmaster of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. In November 1994, Volkhard Steude was appointed concertmaster of the Vienna State Opera Orchestra, and since 2000 he has been concertmaster of the prestigious Vienna Philharmonic. He performs as soloist under the baton of Guiseppe Sinopoli, Daniel Barenboim , Franz Welser – Möst , Tugan Sokhiev, Andriss Nelsons.

Volkhard Steude has a passion for chamber music, and since 2002 has been concertmaster of the Wiener Virtuosen, made up of members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. He also founded the Steude Quartet, which receives regular subscriptions from the Viennese Music Association and is in demand for concerts throughout Europe and in Japan. Japan is also a key country in Volkhard Steude’s career, as in 2016 the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra conferred on him the honorary title of musical partner of the orchestra. Volkhard Steude plays on a 1714 Antonius Stradivarius, the “Smith Quersin”, on loan from the Central Bank of the Republic of Austria.

Virginie Buscail Violin

After her musical studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris and Geneva, Virginie Buscail joined the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, where she is currently concertmaster. She plays a 1729 violin by Domenico Montagnana. Violinist with the Trio George Sand, she has created works for composers such as Gérard Pesson, Michael Jarrell and Mauro Lanza.

A renowned chamber musician, she has also performed with ensembles such as Métamorphosis and at numerous festivals alongside Augustin Dumay, Roland Pidoux, Anne Queffélec and Boris Berezovsky. Since 2017, she has been teaching at the CRR de Paris.

Diana Ligeti Cello

Cellist with the George Sand Trio, Diana Ligeti performs worldwide as soloist and chamber musician with prestigious partners such as Martha Argerich, Philippe Entremont and Chang-Cook Kim. She teaches at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris, the CRR de Rueil-Malmaison and is artistic director of the Ecoles d’art américaines de Fontainebleau.

A finalist in the ARD competition in Munich, she won 1st Grand Prix at the Douai International Cello Competition and 1st Prize at the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition in Japan.

Charles Heisser Piano

Achieving the unprecedented double of graduating from the CNSMD de Paris in both classical (2021) and jazz (2022), Charles Heisser blends his different passions with care and integrity. his different passions at major French festivals such as La Roque d’Anthéron, La Folle Journée de Nantes, Jazz à Vienne and Jazz à La Défense. In 2018, following a duo improvisation with Chick Corea during a concert at the Fondation Louis Vuitton, he was invited to appear on “Plays”, Corea’s latest solo album. The following year, he won the international “Jazz de Crest” competition with his group Nota Bene.

His years of study in Anne-Lise Gastaldi’s class, with the “Piano Project” and “Univers Parallèles” projects, made him highly aware of contemporary language. composition (he studied with composer Yves Chauris), his eclecticism prompted him to apply for “Mondes Nouveaux”, a Ministry of Culture program for young creators. He won the competition with Rythme de l’âme, a project exploring the interactions between jazz, contemporary and modern music, which premiered at the Château de Carcassonne on June 21, 2023.

Violaine Despeyroux Alto

Violaine Despeyroux, a French violist trained at the CNSMD in Paris, the Hochschule in Munich and the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth, performs at numerous festivals (Festival de Pâques, Festival Radio France in Montpellier and Folle journée de Nantes) and prestigious European and international venues – including Victoria Hall in Geneva, Seiji Ozawa Hall in Tanglewood (USA), Théâtre Champs-Elysées in Paris and Palais Beaux-Arts in Brussels.such as Victoria Hall in Geneva, Seiji Ozawa Hall in Tanglewood (USA), Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris or Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels – alongside such renowned partners as Renaud Capuçon, Gary Hoffman, Claire Désert, Suyoen Kim …

She won unanimous 1st prize at the Concours National des Jeunes Altistes and 2nd prize and the prize for the best interpretation of Bach’s works at the Cecil Aronowitz International Viola Competition in Birmingham. She is a regular guest with major orchestras such as the Opéra national de Paris, Orchestre de Paris, WDR Cologne and Kölner Kammerorchester. This singular artist also likes to be where she is not expected and to get off the beaten track: it’s hardly surprising that she is involved in numerous projects with the George Sand Trio, with whom she shares a taste for dialogue between the arts. She plays a Jacquot viola from 1863.

Michel Béroff Piano

After winning 1st prize at the first Olivier Messiaen International Piano Competition in Royan in 1967, Michel Béroff became one of its leading interpreters. His brilliant career has led him to collaborate with such great conductors as Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Boulez, Charles Dutoit, Christoph Eschenbach, Kurt Masur and Mstislav Rostropovich. He also performs alongside such artists as Pierre Amoyal, Martha Argerich, Jean-Philippe Collard, Augustin Dumay, Lynn Harrell and Barbara Hendricks. An exclusive EMI artist for over twenty years, Michel Beroff has made over 50 recordings, including the complete works for piano and orchestra by Liszt, Prokofieff and Stravinsky, conducted by Kurt Masur and Seiji Ozawa. His recordings have won five “Grand Prix du Disque” awards.

Despite his intense activity as a soloist, Michel Béroff taught at the CNSMD de Paris from 1989 to 2016, was invited to teach at numerous academies around the world, and was invited by Japanese television NHK to give a series of fifteen master classes on French music.mies around the world, and in 2006 Japanese television NHK invited him to give a series of fifteen master classes on French music. Marie-Josèphe Jude Piano

Winner of the Clara Haskil International Competition in Vevey in 1989 and Victoire de la Musique in 1995, Marie-Josèphe Jude ‘s career as a soloist has taken her to concert halls and festivals the world over, from Montpellier to Bath, from La Roque d’Anthéron to Kuhmo, from Bagatelle to Locarno. While she has performed under such renowned conductors as Charles Dutoit, Emmanuel Krivine and Jun Märkl, she is also an established chamber musician, long forming a duo with Laurent Korcia and regularly playing with such friends as Henri Demeret.with friends such as Henri Demarquette, Gary Hoffmann, Xavier Phillips… She has also covered a great deal of the repertoire for 2 pianos and 4 hands with Michel Béroff, Claire Désert and Jean-François Heisser. She has also taken part in numerous ballet performances, sharing the stage with her brother Charles Jude, prima ballerina and director of the Bordeaux Ballet. Her impressive discography includes works by Beethoven, Berg, Chopin, Dutilleux, Jolivet, Mendelssohn, Ohana (of whom she was a favorite performer) and Clara Schumann, and includes the complete piano works of Brahms.

Marie-Josèphe Jude has been teaching at the CNSMD de Paris since 2016. She was a member of the jury for the last Marguerite Long Competition in November 2019. She has been President and Artistic Director of the Académie Internationale d’été de Nice since October 2017.

Alice Valognes Alto

Born in 2001, Alice Valognes began playing the viola at the Bayeux music school, then continued her training at the Conservatoire de Caen in Jean-Philippe Gandit’s class, where she obtained a DEM in 2019. She then joined Françoise Gnéri’s class at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon. Having obtained a DNSPM last June, she is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Jean-Baptiste Magnon’s class.

Today, she devotes much of her time to teaching and practicing chamber music. She regularly performs in a variety of formations, including string quartets and sextets, and sometimes plays sonatas with piano.

Anouk Villard Violin

Born into a family of musicians, Anouk Villard began violin at a very early age at the Conservatoire National de Région de Poitiers with Catherine Roux, before joining the CRR de Paris in Christophe Poiget’s class. She went on to perfect her skills with Manuel Solans at the Conservatoire de Gennevilliers. She was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon in June 2022, in Marie Charvet’s class.

Anouk has taken part in numerous master-classes with Jeanne-Marie Conquer, Marc Danel, Patrice Fontanarosa, Florin Szigeti, Nicolas Miribel, Pierre Fouchenneret, Anne Mercier… As a soloist, she has performed on several occasions with the Ensemble Mozartiana, as well as with the Orchestre du CRR de Poitiers.

Maddie Duhau Violin

Maddie Duhau, born in 2002, began playing the violin at the age of 6. In 2015, she entered the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Lyon, where she also studied baroque violin. Then, in 2022, she was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon in Marc Danel’s class. She has performed on several occasions with the Orchestre Français des Jeunes and the Orchestre des Jeunes de la Méditerranée.

Felix Nunes Violin

Luso-Canadian cellist Felix Nunes is a promising emerging artist on the international music scene, with a repertoire ranging from early music to contemporary creations, both as soloist and chamber musician. He is currently completing his Master’s degree at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon, with the support of international soloist Anne Gastinel.
