January Program Opus 1

January Opus January 13 to 16, 2025

Discover Opus 1 of the Classicaval Festival under the artistic direction of Anne-Lise Gastaldi.

Join us for a 3-day celebration of classical music in Val d’Isère. Anne-Lise Gastaldi and her guests will delight music lovers with these four concerts, which will take on a special resonance thanks to the acoustics and hushed ambience of the baroque church of Saint Bernard de Menthon.

The first part of this 31st edition will take place from January 13 to 16, 2025.

Introducing the first opus by Anne-Lise Gastaldi, Artistic Director

“Classicaval dresses up for the year 2025! It’s hard to do it without any fanfare!

So I asked Clément Saunier, a magnificent soloist with the Ensemble Intercontemporain, to introduce us to the trumpet by combining it with viola, violin, cello and double bass.

This will be the program on January 15, covering over 200 years of compositions … because the trumpet is an ancient instrument, even found in Tutankhamun’s sarcophagus!

The identity of Classicaval is also to mix generations of artists: in addition to two students from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon, three other young artists with established careers will be present.

The beautiful baroque church of Saint-Bernard de Menthon will resonate with works by Brahms, Chopin, Schubert, Schumann…”.
